Huge changes are still awaiting us on the horizon

Last night, I read a column outlining the plight of parents in the age of COVID-19. It’s from the New York Times and it’s American centric, but I think its still very poignant for the Canadian experience as well:

As we start to reopen, and talk about our children going back to part time schooling in the fall we have to start planning for a new truth. It’s something I’ve been saying since the start of this pandemic. There is no going back to normal.

As long as COVID-19 remains the unwelcome guest that it is, we will need to conduct ourselves socially, economically and even politically different that we have in the past. It’s going to take real leadership to work to transform this country through the pandemic into a post COVID-19 world.
