We’re losing our handle on this virus

I’ll be honest I have no idea what this province is doing to stop the second wave of COVID-19.

It’s incredibly unnerving that the Toronto Medical Officer is providing contradictory advice from the Ontario Public Health Officer. Toronto is to the point where their contact tracing is essentially reduced to the honour system. As well the cries from Toronto public health to close restaurants and bars are being met with wringing of hands at the provincial level.

Yesterday, the Toronto Star published a story indicating how the provincial government was trying to reopen our schools on the cheap. Despite boasting spending $1.3 billion to open the schools, the Ministry of Education is really just shuffling monies around accounting sheets to make it appear that they are sparing no expense. The reality is very different.

The provincial government attempts to issue new guidelines for social interactions and the result is this:

We can’t keep stumbling through this second wave. We are still waiting on a cohesive plan and costing of monies to be spent to implement that plan. Stern words and well wishes are no longer enough.
